Constance Tenvik (b. London, 1990) is a Norwegian artist, who adopts a multidisciplinary approach to installations, integrating sculpture, performance, textile, costumes, painting, drawing and video. She received her MFA from Yale University School of Art in New Haven (2016), CT and BFA from the Academy of Art in Oslo (2014).
Tenvik's artistic expression is marked by a distinctive style, infused with humour, a bold and exuberant utilisation of colour, and theatrical gestures. She is particularly drawn to narratives and exaggerations, striving to better understand human paradoxes. Her paintings are inspired by individuals, dreams, and fragments of mythology, weaving together in a tapestry of rich chromatic maximalism. Within her compositions, scenes unfold depicting interactions within urban settings, blending vulnerability with decadence.
